  • callforentry.org Goes by CaFE™. Some of Skagit Artists events are applied to through CaFE™. You can also access hundreds of calls for art on this site. It’s free to sign up and create an account, though most calls have a small fee to apply. If you need any help navigating this site please contact any officer or board member and we’ll make sure you get the help you need.

  • artisttrust.org This site is Artist Trust based in Seattle. They have many resources for artists. In the left navigation box click on “for artists” and you’ll find many articles of interest. You do not have to be a member to access this information. Artist Trust has a number of grant opportunities that artists can apply for.

  • alliedarts.org Allied Arts is an arts commission type of organization in Whatcom County. It is worth becoming a member of this group as well as Skagit Artists. They offer juried show opportunities and put on several art events annually. If you join you can get a link to your website on their website. Reciprocal links are a good way to get your name out there. Some of our members have received invitations from galleries after showing at Allied Arts. Their gallery series usually juries in August for the following year.

  • pnwsculptors.org If you are a sculptor this is a worthwhile organization to belong too. You get a link to your website on their site and many opportunities to show your work. Most of their shows are in Oregon if you don’t mind the drive.

  • reddotblog.com Art marketing news for artists from a successful gallery owner. You can sign up free for their newsletter.

  • 4culture.org This is mainly a King County organization but they have a lot of valuable information particularly about public art.

  • painterskeys.com This site was started by painter Robert Genn of Canada. He passed away a couple years ago but his daughter Sarah is continuing the tradition. She posts some letters from her dad’s archive and writes some of her own. She is a good writer. They are always insightful and interesting on the business and philosophy of creating art. Free to sign up.
